作品賞析
In the eyes of artist Lu Yi-Hsin, “hair” is a vehicle of human emotions and a creative inspiration. In her work Eternity, she abstracts hair into a mass of coiling and twisting lines, which express a reserved but resolute mental state. She depicts hair strands with techniques used in ink painting and presents the variations in an abstract way, so she chooses Japanese torinoko paper, which has a smooth surface on which the ink does not easily bleed, making it suitable for very meticulous brushwork. The composition is also inspired by nebulas, with a grand structure at the center, radiating multiple structures. One can also think of it as being like the various parts of consciousness within the brain, all inseparably linked together. Throughout the picture, the layering of ink lines and washes can be seen, as well as the thick, three-dimensional effect created by the use of gofun. Using the properties of the media and entanglement of lines, three different kinds of space are shown.
