The artist Wu Tung-Lung’s creations have long been based on organically shaped symbols and the rhythms of geometric forms and lines; he also uses lines, color blocks, space, and other elements to present his unique style. He uses complex handicraft to treat the canvas so that the oil paint shows a unique texture. In his Symbol-141, one can see that the geometric forms scattered on the pale pink background show an “existential and spatial” relationship with one another; through their color and shape, the forms are drawn to one another, giving the composition a kind of rhythm. As for media, he will use adhesive tape to assist in presenting clean lines, and he uses low-saturation tones to express a sense of comfort and tranquility.
