作品賞析
In this grey-toned painting, sunlight streams through a window somewhere beyond the right side of the frame. From the shadow on the wall and door, we can tell the window has an iron grid. The overall atmosphere of the room is quiet and peaceful, but there is a large, unrecognizable bubble floating across the room, toward the light. Artist Liang Yu-Hsuan aims to record light, shadow, and air. In many of her works, bubbles are present, because they provide clues to wind direction and the source for beams of light. Through the painted medium, viewers can enter the environment she focuses on and attempts to preserve forever. The title of this work refers to a period in the afternoon, 16:27 and after. The light and shadow qualities are close to what one finds in a black and white photograph. The composition as a whole is pure, free of impurity, and the brush strokes are soft and harmonious. One can almost feel the drift of the air in the room. By deliberately leaving certain things out (such as color), greater room for the imagination is created. The painting captures a slice of time, carefully extracted from the troubled world.
