In Civilization．Symbiosis, an elephant walks with ancient Greek buildings on its head while  walks above the clouds, showing its mighty power. The artist Wang Chih-Pin is good at the super-realist style. By repeated layering of the oil paint and the depiction of detail, he creates extremely delicate scenes of fantasy. His paintings often center on the theme of the close relationship between nature or animals and human development. The elephant here may symbolize either humankind or the self, but by holding the symbols of ancient civilization on its head, it shows how “people bear the mission of their historical inheritance,” and that people, things, and creatures exist inseparably in “symbiosis.” Therefore, we each have the responsibility to maintain the environment and respect and protect the other living things on earth.
