The artist prefers to be known by his sobriquet, “Mi Li Tsun Nan,” which means “Man from Mili Village,” in order to commemorate his hometown, as he puts his understanding of life and feelings about his hometown into his paintings. Mili Village is located next to the Laonung River, and the scenery along the riverbank has become one of his favorite subjects. Whether the scenery has beautiful silver grass in bloom or an excavator mining sand, it is all transformed into an abstract expression, with abundant nostalgia. He uses tradition as a base, but does not get bogged down in it. He uses innovative brush-and-ink techniques on large canvases, with the additional use of thickener, and adding the thickener, he rubs the ink stains to create spatial variations through light and shadow. He has formed his own unique artistic vocabulary. View was created in 2019. The palette is simple but deep and layered, and through all the delicate and dense lines there is an endless distance.
