WANG Hsin-Jen is good at digital technologies such as multimedia image design, interactive programming, and algorithms. He combines sound and video to create novel digital artworks. Paths to the Future is an extension of Paths to the Past. This work uses the wave function collapse algorithm to overlap personal memories and visions about nationality in the visual images. WANG Hsin-Jen believes that the ethic border of Taiwan is defined by different political entities in different territories, acting as organisms that are constantly changing. Through his work, Taiwan is in political gaps, so that the original landscape can produce a new composition different from reality in each viewing process.
