TSENG Ying-Tung's Cloud of Taiwan uses paper pulp and fine sand as the base and shaping materials, showing a solid and rough texture just like a mother comforting her child with her warm callused hands. The work takes the shape of Taiwan island as a cloud, floating in the air beautifully and symbolizes freedom with the lines of the cloud. Various kinds of plants, such as pods, money flowers, and love flowers, growing upwards in the cloud, present the Taiwanese nourishment of its endemic species. Among them, the money flowers bloom like the sun and shine all over the earth. TSENG Ying-Tung superimposed copper coin marks on the cloud of Taiwan to symbolize the treasures on Taiwan island. He hoped that the people would thrive here, and continue to grow with a vigorous attitude towards a better future.
