An architectural plan is called a blueprint, it provides detailed and accurate designs of a building, and is known for the cyanotype process. LIN Ting-Li uses the same technique to create the Blueprint of Home Memory. From the work we can tell it’s a construction site with fences and scaffoldings full of graffiti, on the left is a happy naive kid. Juxtaposing the portrait of the kid with the construction scene reproduces these conflicts from the artist’s family trauma, and reconstructs it with imagination. A blueprint is a basis for construction; can the memory of a family be built exactly it’s designed? LIN Ting-Li applies cyanotype and yellow oil paint to illustrate the past and the future.
