CHEN Wen-Hsiang reconfigures ready-made objects to compose works, in Golden Pond in Carry Mode, often-seen plastic and metal products such as the red plastic baskets, acrylic handles, metal poles, green plastic fences, etc., were made into suitcases decorated with a koi inside. Koi is a vivid and colorful ornamental fish, it represents those students who studied abroad and returned with achievement and success; while the suitcase symbolizes the unopen way that knowledge was passed. CHEN Wen-Hsiang taunts the nepotism that dwells in the hierarchy; everyone in this system ends up like the koi in the pond, being kept by different power structures, hoping to be promoted to a higher level.
