LIN Hsi-Chun has an architectural background and creates works that combine space and aesthetics. In the work Yellow Memory in the Wardrobe, the canvas is cut into a number of block-shaped spaces of different sizes, like each storage compartment in the wardrobe, and various items are stored in each area. Black and white edged color blocks surround the dark green square in the center. Irregular white objects are placed in the squares, some smooth some stiff, enriching the picture with blue geometric lines and orange stripes interlaced between. LIN Hsi-Chun explores how his inner dual sensibilities are compatible in the painting, repeatedly, trying to put his own memory and experience into a limited canvas.
