作品賞析
YANG Yi-Syuan's work focuses on the existence and disappearance of everyday scenery. The work, The Lost Scenery, presents a scenery of the hometown of GuanTian, Tainan. In the picture, modern cement buildings, traditional red brick houses, and iron-clad illegal structures are intertwined crowdedly. The only remaining small green field in the front and the banana trees fighting for survival in between the buildings seem to be a metaphor for the decline of traditional rural areas. YANG Yi-Syuan uses a realistic narrative to truthfully present the mixed state of Taiwan's modern rural landscape. Houses are built above the rice fields and the red-tiled houses have been abandoned, replaced by townhouses. The scenery seen today is no longer a hometown scenery from childhood memory.
