The concept and inspiration of WU Wei-Ku's ceramic sculpture Altitude are taken from the heights and penetrating structure of a building. Two simply shaped blocks are assembled together. One of them is symmetrically shaped with a hollow center while the other is a rectangular solid block. The two are presented in dark white and green tones, showing the warm texture of the ceramics while also giving the rational shape of the sculpture emotion and temperature. The symmetrical shape of the work has an asymmetrical height relationship, just like how the buildings are shaped and how people shape themselves into images that others hope to see. WU Wei-Ku uses geometric shapes as a means to create a dialogue between the virtual space and the reality, forming a delicate emotional perception.
