CHEN Hui-Chiao is skilled at creating profound artistic works using symbolic metaphors combined with ready-made objects. The Nightingale and The Rose replaces pen and paint with needle and thread, highlighting the materiality of the material itself and opening up various imaginations and possibilities about materials, concepts, and forms. She uses canvases, suede, and feathers, etc., as a base, and then covers the yarn sewn with electric embroidery. All the objects are delicately assembled together, containing both the abstract rationality of geometric and monochromatic paintings and the expressiveness of the random variation of the material itself as well as the metaphorical symbolism of the ready-made objects. With personal subjective consciousness, CHEN Hui-Chiao launches a chase game of "establishment" and "destruction" between the objects and materials and colors and shapes.
