LU Hao-Yuan is skilled in illustrating still life studies of flowers, plants, and objects to depict various forms of life that serve as projections of inner emotions. Bird of Paradise Flower illustrates a bird of paradise flower in a glass vase. The brilliant red hues of the petals provide a beauteous image where two flowers seem like actual birds in various poses engaged in a contest of brilliance. LU Hao-Yuan uses surreal still life drawings to showcase both the material and spiritual essences of an object. Fantasies and reinterpretations were then used to demonstrate the energetic form of life in addition to the figurative serenity of the still life objects.
