JHANG Jyun-Shuo illustrates images about people as an attempt to capture and convey emotions and conditions that can hardly be described in words. “FACE” is a figurative artwork depicting two faces with similar contours but blurred features that make them hardly identifiable. Nevertheless, the audience could easily capture their facial expressions and experience their emotional state through the painting and brushstrokes. The human face is capable of a wide range of changes but must be kept suppressed when people face the actual environment. JHANG Jyun-Shuo uses simple colors and lines to illustrate two broken faces and to recreate, in a most primal fashion, the physical form and emotional state of people.
