LIN Hung-Tien’s photographic work “The Rain Will Forever Sigh the Accent” is an ephemeral scene in the rain that conveys his contemplation of the fleeting nature of life and time. The utility posts, sign boards, and temple lanterns hanging everywhere as well as parked scooters packed closely together on the road form a common landscape in the streets of Taiwan. The rain has forced both the pedestrians and scooter riders to put on their rain gear while traversing the roads. This photograph may depict an everyday scene but allows people to witness the various facets of life. LIN Hung-Tien uses image overlapping techniques to blur our view while highlighting the trails of ephemeral rain drops serving as a romantic metaphor for the beginning and ending of life that barely left a mark on this world.
