WANG Pei-Wen is skilled in lacquerware crafting and has introduced relevant techniques into her artwork, taking inspirations from everyday life to create art that conveys her love for the land she grew up in. “Free and Relaxed” is a serene portrayal of blooming chrysanthemum flowers against a black background. She first applied several layers of natural paint and then engraved grooves for the floral petals. These grooves were then filled with a thin layer of paint before applying actual pigments to recreate the seasonal blossoming of the chrysanthemum flower.
