Sushi Series-Mentaiko

CHEN I-Chang’s Sushi Series-Mentaiko focuses on global warming and the fossil fuel energy crisis. Soft, polyethylene plastic is used to create an extra-large nigiri sushi. The industrial plastic was selected to create a long-lasting artwork and the transparent materials allow the surrounding atmosphere to penetrate the material while allowing viewers to review and reflect upon the raw material crisis caused by fossil fuels and how it has injured the natural environment on multiple occasions. CHEN I-Chang also presented the concept people need food to survive within the artistic work.
