WANG Hsiang-Ling uses personal experiences to create works filled with oppression and isolation as an interpretation of interpersonal existence and fluid nature as an attempt to discuss the nature behind various objects and things. Metamorphosis is a photograph of beautiful flowers blooming on the treetop. The pitch-black background serves to further highlight the pure white and beauty of the flowers while creating a brilliant, isolated, yet contradictory atmosphere. Blackness is a power that devours everything, transforming the lively plants into vacant shells. WANG Hsiang-Ling’s photograph series reflects upon the motif of loneliness while guiding viewers to search for the relationship between external reality and personal self.
