WANG Hao-Ting’s Out of the World I is an assembly of 3 panels, displaying a modern landscape painting with contrasting colors and harmonious composition of dark red shapes that resemble islands against a monotonous background of azure blue. Tiny white dots are scattered throughout the work , which, upon closer inspection, are not migratory birds or moon but combat aircraft, ships, light houses, wind turbines, and other human constructs, hiding a great deal of tension and crisis within this seemingly natural and wondrous landscape. WANG Hao-Ting has placed various artificial objects within natural sceneries as a metaphor for the insignificance of the human race as well as the threats they pose against the natural environment.
