LU CHih-Yun has continued to generate cement-based works, using different properties of the material as an analogy of the relationships between people, memory, and time. The Boundary of Time 1 shows a traditional iron window grille. The broken stone glass and artificial flowers were sealed using cement, stripping them of their original colors and dynamics and leaving only a white form, like a specimen frozen at the moment or a symbol held captive within a cage and permanently archived in memory. LU Chih-Yun uses readymade items and cement material to create a poetic atmosphere in an attempt to encourage viewers to inspire mental links with memory.
