作品賞析
CHIANG Yen-Ni’s artworks are based upon the experiences of her father’s generation where many men worked as miners. This physical sculpture tells the story of those working at the bottom of the social ladder. Shovel is a common tool used by workers. The artwork symbolizes the hardworking nature of the working class, except that it is provided with a fine layer of enameled and intricate blue and white porcelain patterns. CHIANG Yen-Ni’s artwork provides an analogy of the laborious working class, while the beautiful patterns offer a storytelling element that instill the tools with new life and purpose while encouraging viewers to think of and identity with various professions.
