WAN Jou-Yin’s Alienation uses meticulous brushstrokes and techniques to illustrate two young girls behind a transparent bubble wrap, trying to take a better look at the outside world. However, the transparent bubble wrap serves as a barrier isolating them from the surrounding environment. The girl on the left looks on helplessly, while the girl on the right has armed herself with a small knife to cut open the barrier to bring her back to reality. WAN Jou-Yin’s work is an attempt to convey the cold and isolated atmosphere of the modern world and the increasingly distant relationship between individuals.
