CHIANG Hsin-Tzu’s ink paintings explore personal experience in the world after leaving the womb, and the physical experiences while exploring the world. Every Month is based upon the experience of a woman’s period. The artist uses simple lines of a single color and adopting precise composition and repeated strokes without compromising the conveyance of emotions to provide a focused and unadulterated representation of personal sensation. CHANG Hsin-Tzu made sure that every line is unbroken from beginning to end, stretching forth like an infinite cycle. Each line represents a physical reaction to the creative process, the artist’s mindset at the moment of creation, and the gradual sedimentation of time and space. By adopting a simple composition and densely packed lines, CHIANG Hsin-Tzu created a work that communicates physical sensations to space and life, leaving behind an obvious trace that marks the process.
