WONG Liang-Yuan uses digital imageries to reflect upon the environment. The Ark Biography shows a series of circular panels that depict oddly shaped animals of different species treading in water as they head off to the ark. These animals are also accompanied by skeletal apparitions that seemed to have come from the abyssal world, adding a cold and hopeless atmosphere to the entire artwork. WONG Liang-Yuan employs a surrealist approach to simulate an apocalyptic and stygian landscape that serve as a metaphor of human destruction as well as to communicate his personal sense of helplessness and disappointment in modern ecological conservation efforts.
