FENG Chiung-Huei’s photographs highlight her care for the underprivileged. Native Memories Sounded 3 shows an elementary school classroom ravaged by a mudslide. All the glass windows, chairs, and class equipment had been destroyed while plants and mud cover the entire floor. A half-naked boy is shown writing words on the fallen blackboard, hopeful that classes will begin once the mess has been dealt with. FENG Chiung-Huei hopes to use this work to convey the people’s resilience and optimism in the face of natural disasters.
