WU Wen-Cheng’s Interbreeding 1 shows a microcosm of organic life forms. Light blue serves as the main background, while yellow and white paint were applied in splashes and smears that mix and meld into each other. Black lines were used to create amoebic and ciliated organisms as well as cells that multiply indefinitely, crawling and swimming across the composition. WU Wen-Cheng has converted an abstract work into an imaginative form of living matter, granting biological vitality to blocks of pure colors and abstract forms.
