CHANG Chih-Ta’s photographic work of Skin for Another Body is a composition that serves as a metaphor of human-inflicted injuries upon nature and ecosystems that were fueled by materialistic desires. The image shows animals being cruelly skinned, exposing the skeleton underneath. Photographs were integrated so that animal bodies were combined with various human apparel such as bags, necklaces, and shoes, showing how body parts were employed after killing the animal. The black composition creates the image of death that serves as a contrast to the innocent animals. CHANG Chih-Ta hopes that this work can highlight the evils of satisfying greed and material desires by killing animals and help encourage viewers to support animal protection.
