Uncomprehended Loneliness

CHIU Shih-Bo’s works are projections of personal emotions, and serve as a form of interaction between people and the world. These works seem to communicate the struggle between the desire for external recognition and the preservation of personal identity. Uncomprehended Loneliness is a series of black and white photographic work to record forgotten corners in our daily lives, presenting a form of hardly understood isolation. Scenes include buildings outside the window, roofs, crossroads, factory buildings, gardens, and city streets. Darkened corners, inverted shadows, and other imaging methods were used to highlight the sense of abandonment. These images highlight inconspicuous scenes that we see in everyday lives to evoke a response from the viewer and encourage them to observe surroundings in detail and remember the experiences they feel.
