LU Chih-Wen‘s Children-Exchange seems like an innocent fairytale world with light purple tones. A girl is shown trying to place a piece of bread into a boy’s mouth. The boy, on the other hand, had to lean his head backward in an awkward position to eat the bread while presenting a rose to the girl. Despite their good intentions, the two were separated by strands of barbed wire. LU Chih-Wen uses the rose, the allegory of love, and bread, the allegory of practical necessities, to illustrate the contradictory concept of love in this day and age.
