KE Yen-Ju’s woodcuts display an unforgettable moment of ease and relaxation of herself during a tour. Great Times III shows the artist seated before a small coffee table looking towards the door as though reminiscing about the sights and experiences in her travels while decorative flowers and sweets on the table create a relaxing atmosphere. KE Yen-Ju employed a single color tone supplemented by straight lines, blocks, and carved lines to provide a simple, rustic, and warm texture. Layers of woodblock prints and ink represent an attempt to preserve this experience and lead viewers into the artist’s inner world as she shared her joy and contentment during these great times.
