FENG Chun-Lan was born in Hong Kong and came to Taiwan with his missionary father and is currently working as a pastor himself. His Nature’s Caretaker: Adam was inspired by the biblical story about the character. The model, wearing no clothes except for a crown made of grape vines and leaves, played the role of Adam. Divine auras of ancient sculptures is a characteristic of Feng Julan’s photography. The lens captured the finest points of facial expressions and demeanor to create a visual display highlighting the depth of our souls. Adam is shown looking on at a location faraway, praying for salvation for the original sin. FENG Chun-Lan’s works often use clean black and white images to generate an atmosphere of serenity and strength, with the character’s penetrating gaze offering the aesthetics of spiritual comfort.
