The artist HUANG Chun-I has integrated experiences of urban life within these creative works to create manifestation of inner landscapes. Upward is composed of an orderly arrangement of massive buildings clad in navy blue, aquamarine, and earthly yellow tones, assuming the appearance of blood vessels pulsating with the urban motions. These blocks contain geometric shapes not unlike red blood cells that take in the city’s nutrients, organically escalating into abstract symbols of the urban atmosphere contrasted against an endless night sky. The resulting composition is an urban narration rich with deep imaginations.
