WANG Hsiao-Hua is skilled in using composite media and her diverse collection includes illustrated art, behavioral art, and installation art. Undercover: Hook utilized mundane everyday items as the creative elements. Since these items are often forgotten after use, the artist believes that they serve as perfect undercover elements reflected by the title of the work. Hook referred to in this work is the mundane cloth hanger which has been transformed into an abstract symbol, smudged and printed to create different abstract patterns. The seemingly simple composition is in fact filled with interesting connotations. Art techniques employed by WANG Hsiao-Hua aim to generate an appearance that differ from the functional intents of the artwork and create unique physical tensions.
