作品賞析
LEE Hsin-Che is a skilled photographer and uses large 4x5 cameras to capture his compositions that focus mostly on theatrical production sites and actual events around us. Starting in 2012, LEE Hsin-Che began a set of urban constructions and landscapes in order to record the oppressive and unbalanced nature of Taiwanese urban architecture. Fading to Pale #4 shows giant ventilation equipment on the rooftop of a building. The ground, sleek with rain, reflects the color of the sky. This completely artificial balcony is isolated and barren. Despite being a colored photograph, the entire composition is shrouded in dull gray tones, deepening the sense of distance and isolation. Such imageries not only demonstrate LEE Hsin-Che’s photographic skills, but also serve as a metaphorical representation of the relationship between individuals and the urban environment, offering a unique cultural and social perspective to the audience.
