WU Mei-Jung is skilled in using ink painting to illustrate everyday sights, granting poetic meaning to otherwise common and mundane items. Night in Nstalgia is based on a tea-time chat. The forward scene is composed of a black square table and two square benches. Two tea cups, visibly containing some tea, have been placed on both sides of the table. Two bamboo curtains hang at the background, one was fully unreeled while the other was rolled up and secured to reveal the scenery outside with red and green tree leaves swaying freely with the wind, offering a sense of dynamic motion.
