HSU Yun-Shan has studied and lived in many countries and enjoy using light, shadow, colors, texture, dynamic motion, and other elements as she searches for a method capable of depicting multiple complexities at once. Orange + Pink is focused upon the basic elements of illustration. Pink and orange colors are employed and arranged using various gaps and directions to create tonal rhythms to experiment with pure and repeated artistic elements. The artist has employed the approach of Zen meditation, focusing on every hand movement used in every brush stroke to release her spiritual self, experiencing the nature of every step, leaving only the trails of the brush that compose the final artworks. To HSU Yun-Shan, artistic creation is an experimental process that removes complex and superficial elements that returns art to its pure and serene freedom and a method employed to identify the basic nature of various objects.
