The print artist CHEN Yu-Yu is skilled in using black and white color blocks and the texture of wood to illustrate different narrative scenes as well as highly personalized inner soliloquy. A Poetry of Life has been created to commemorate a deceased friend. The bottom of the composition depicts a gentle hill slope where dozens of light spots have gathered at the left side like souls congregating at the mountain top. A giant figure, with trees growing on the back of its feet, ascends the hill slope while holding one of these fragile souls in its hands. CHEN Yu-Yu depicts an atmosphere of serenity, purity, honesty, and humility, using stories and personal experiences as her creative inspirations in order to create a warm and moving print art, allowing the viewers to also experience the innermost depths of her mind.
