LIN Huang-Ti’s works are often humorous critique of the current system, and tend to contain fake aliens or unidentified flying objects that have been unearthed. In The Platform, LIN Huang-Ti made use of paper embossments to create the outlines of an airplane. The center of the picture depicts a screen-printed roof of a work platform that appears as though the plane is carrying or flying through the workshop submerged in the skies. LIN Huang-Ti’s workshop, PAINT HOUSE Studio, has been an important artistic center in Taiwan and has over 10 years of history. Metaphorical depictions of the airplane combined with the workshop, points to the 10 years that literally flew by. LIN Huang-Ti’s work serves as a manifestation of past memories and hints at the future destinations of the workshop.
