CHOU Ching-Hui used to be a news worker who often contemplated on the use of photography as a vector for life, work, and modern art to offer different interpretations. CHOU Ching-Hui thus began his career in photography. Fined Taipei presents photographic evidence of traffic violations from 1990 to 2009. The photographer, however, is the speed camera and the subject was the artist himself. The anthology of violations served as an alternative form of Curriculum Vitae. In Fined Taipei, CHOU Ching-Hui has re-imagined the meaning of photography and artistic creation where the artist himself acts as the unwilling protagonist. Evidences were edited and arranged to offer a unique form of artistic presentation.
