LEE Chia-Yu uses photography to record the seemingly insignificant cultural impact experienced during life in Beijing. Despite sharing the same language and cultural roots, LEE Chia-Yu has experienced more and more differences in daily life. Strangeness Attack 04 captures a moment just before daybreak. Factories shrouded in darkness gave off an unnatural green glow, exuding an enigmatic aura of uncertainty and that seemed to serve as a harbinger of unwelcome things to come. Armed with a camera, LEE Chia-Yu has once again captured a subtle moment of “cultural shock” in everyday life that can neither be put into words nor deduced via logic or rationality.
