KAO En-Ping is good at drawing. In her work Regeneration, the withered lotus seedpod occupies the main area of the image. The rootstalk responsible for transporting nutrient lies dispiritedly beside the seedpod like the dead branch. The thin rootstalk and the large seedpod form a strong contrast which creates the feelings of loneliness and desolation in the image. However, lotus seeds are obscurely seen on the top of the seedpod. It implies the withering seedpod is generating countless new life. Through the life process of the seedpod, artist KAO En-Ping encourages herself to keep optimistic as confronting the low tide. When the dilemma disappears, it will be the beginning of a new stage in life.
