YEH Chun-Hsin is a self-learning painter growing up in Keelung. Most of his works are inspired by his most familiar materials in his growing experience. He applies various materials to the experiment of painting for tens of years and develops excellent realistic techniques. His work Pork takes a fresh and plump piece of pork as the object of sketch. The sophisticated realistic technique vividly represents the texture of the pork. The greasy surface is bright and plump; the pork is red and smooth. The texture of fat and lean meat is clearly identifiable and spread averagely. Through the cautious observation and the representation of the realistic technique, the artist successfully expresses the beautiful texture of the pork to audiences’ perceptual imagination.
