Artist WANG Ting-Yu’s painting language is full of changes. He is good at taking half-abstract symbols as his presenting elements and creating the innovative visual perception. In the work Untitled (Ralph Graphs), the artist depicts a city in a bird’s eye view on the circular canvas. He brushes a layer of single-color acrylic paint, and then he makes the special visual effect with the coarse texture by polishing. In the image, the urban streets turn into the surrounding and extending curves in the circular canvas. It looks like a planet with flowing clouds. WANG Ting-Yu tends to create paintings with single color. He gives audiences another way of reading and viewing images through the polished images.
