Artist YU Hsin-Hsien has been a news photographer for magazines and newspapers for years. His life is surrounded by news and incidents. Out of work, he pays attention to the surrounding environment and records the classic moments of materials and times. In his work Lonely, an unconscious passer-by seems to walk through a corridor of a modern building with leisure gesture and slow pace. Compared with the distant urban landscape of skyscrapers and intersected non-permitted buildings, the lonely figure of the passer-by feels extremely alienated and isolated. The artist adopts black and white films, removes all surplus colors, preserves the slow pace in the image, and reveals the realization of life from the image.
