Artist TU Yu-Shou once studied under Li Chung-Sheng, the father of Taiwan’s modern art, and initiated the founding of R.O.C. Modern Painting Association and Modern Views Art Association. It could be said that Tu has participated and witness the development of Taiwan’s modern painting. “Joy” is a work that showcases the style of traditional Chinese meticulous painting of birds and flowers, the composition and brushworks both exert an ancient flavor. The birds that weave through flowers and branches represent the perfect interpretation and expression of the thousand-year old heritage of Chinese traditional painting.
