Artist WEN Meng-Yu keeps records of her life in her paintings. In this painting, with all the details all flattened and transmogrified into sharp lines and deep, bright colors that emphasize the existence of the scene itself. The furniture in the painting represents the artist’s relationship with certain people, stating her inner emotions in a metaphorical way. The artist reconstitutes her personal experiences into a form that she can share with the viewer, providing a simple narration that leads the viewer to experience the rich emotions in the image.
