作品賞析
Plankton forms the basis of HUANG Pao-Wei’s Zooplankton Man Series. These microorganisms, visible only through a microscope, have been found to absorb carbon dioxide from the ocean. Huang studies the forms and properties of these organisms, rearranging them to compose personified images of plankton. Zooplankton Man 7 is fragile and transparent, like a fertilized human egg. The artist presents the life force of this primitive organism with simple, bright tones. By projecting his own emotions into it, he uses shapes as a metaphor for human nature, once again recognizing the relationship between the self, the natural environment, and microorganisms.
