In the work “In Order to Write a Poem”, HSIAO Starri uses the double exposure technique to fuse sceneries of rural France and images from everyday life in Taipei on the same roll of film. The two timelines and two places intertwine under the chemical reaction of the film. The artist utilizes own strength in writing to turn the images into a long poem, delicately presenting pieces of memory and thoughts from different time periods, as well as the sceneries and lives in France and Taipei.
