From journal notes and rough sketches he made as an exchange student in Spain, HSIEH Chi-Chang relives his experiences and feelings in his Travel Journal series, which he created in an intuitive style.
In Travel Journal 23, Hsieh composes an abstract scene out of map symbols using a free-spirited narrative painting style, presenting the struggle between his inner and outer being, just like the subtle changes he experienced during his travels. The artist exhibits a world of absolute freedom through the power of his work.
